RPC Technologies congratulate their Manager of Engineering (Broadmeadow Office) Pierre Gouhier. Pierre was the recipient of the Engineers Australia, Newcastle Division 2013 Young Professional Engineer of the Year Award, which was held on Friday, 23rd August, 2013.
Pierre’s Gouhier’s citation for the award read as follows:
Pierre holds a Master of Engineering degree, majoring in Composite Materials from Polytech Savoie (France) and is currently studying for a Master of Engineering Management at the University of Newcastle. As a Composite Engineer at RPC Technologies, Pierre has extensive experience in Transport, Defence, Manufacturing and Fibre Reinforced Plastics. (FRP) Piping Industries. Pierre’s experience gained over working at various technical levels on major Australian projects from modeling/drafting of concept, to validation of design using Pipe Stress Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Pierre says “I never thought, arriving from France on a very hot morning in January 2006, I would receive such an award a few years later. I am feeling very humbled by such an honour. I thank, RPC Technologies, who gave me the opportunities and challenges which allowed me to be nominated for such an award and I extend my thanks to my work colleagues as their support and advice is invaluable and of course to my wife, Kate who allows me to spend long hours at the office and is so supportive of what I do”.
Mr Tony Caristo, RPC’s Managing Director says “I am very proud of Pierre and his achievements, it is rewarding to know that our people our being recognised by our peers as some of the best in the industry. It is pleasing to me that RPC are able to train, guide and nurture our young engineers – this is the second occasion one of RPC’s engineers has won such a prestigious award.
As a winner at the Division level Pierre will go on to complete at the national level at the National Engineering Excellence Awards in November. Congratulations Pierre.
