RPC Technologies designs, manufactures quality fibre composite and metal products. We have been providing solutions for over 40 years and have built a global reputation as a specialist in the engineering, design and manufacture of major industrial, rail and Defence related projects. Solutions also include any refurbishment or sustainment services as required for RPC and other products/assets.

As an Estimator, you will primarily be responsible for estimating tenders and quotes, assisting with tender preparation, and submission, including methodology, and completion of other relevant information. All while ensuring that these tenders are accurate, submitted on time and within the conditions of the tender scope of work and specification.

Our clients include major construction/Tier 1 service providers, as well as government utilities and authorities (both in Australia, NZ, and SEA)

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Initial assessment of tenders received to understand the specifications and scope of work of the tender, and to source all additional information as required from the client.
  • Where required attend site tender meetings with the client to determine all necessary requirements to prepare tender estimates and submissions, e.g., access methodology, site amenities, restrictions, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, evaluate and interpret a range of complex and technical documents, including specifications, construction & plan drawings and MTO/BOQ’s
  • Preparation of tender estimates using a combination of Excel based estimating spreadsheet, first principle methods, material take offs, bill of quantities, previous project cost studies, productivity rates and similar tender submissions
  • Collecting and following up on quotes from suppliers
  • Providing accurate cost estimates (in collaboration with senior engineers and the operations team), and all other relevant documentation necessary for the tender submission
  • Conduct tender estimate reviews with Senior Management for approval.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender presentations during the negotiation phase with client
  • Timely follow up after submission of tenders and associated record keeping determining the current status of the projects
  • Detailed tender handover with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery

Skills
  • Previous experience in estimating (ideally from a manufacturing or construction perspective)
  • Strong computer literacy skills in Excel, Word etc.
  • Strong organisational and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work to multiple deadlines
  • Exceptional time management and able to problem solve
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent related work experience
