17 Jul Another great win for RPC Singapore – July 17, 2024
The RPC Singapore team Rings the Bell for yet another major power station project!
Jurong Engineering Limited (JEL) awarded RPC Singapore Pte Ltd another power station GRP Cooling Water (CW) piping contract in June 2024.
The new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine cogeneration plant (Phase 2) will be integrated with the existing plant in Jurong Island producing electricity plus high-and low-pressure steam for industry.
Currently, Sembcorp is operating a cogeneration combined cycle plant (CCP3) that has been operational since 2014. RPC supplied the cooling water piping for this plant Under Phase 1.
With Phase 2, the new cogeneration combined cycle power plant (CCP4) will host an advanced Mitsubishi Power M701JAC J-class Gas Turbine capable of generating 600 MW and 200 tph of either HP or LP steam. The CCP4 will also be designed for 30% hydrogen co-firing with the possibility of 50% hydrogen co-firing in the future.
The RPC scope involves the design and engineering (Seven Hills), Project Management (Singapore), manufacture (Batam) and delivery of large diameter GRP Main Cooling Water (CW) piping of up to 2.4m diameter and smaller auxiliary CW piping.
This will be a challenging project with the interconnection to the seawater intake and discharge, multiple road crossings, sharing of pipe racks with existing piping and interconnections to other users of the cooling water making the pipe routing complex with multiple interfaces.
A great ONE RPC effort from PT RPC Indonesia, RPC Technologies and RPC Singapore and congratulations to the RPC Singapore team of Gary Reid, Alpesh Pradhan, Karthi Keyan, and Mark Toh.
