16 Dec Maribyrnong Maintenance Shaft delivered for SFPJV – Melbourne Water 16.12.2024
RPC team successfully delivers another giant GRP Maintenance Shaft.
As part of the new 1.2km gravity sewer being built for the Melbourne Water Maribyrnong Main Sewer Upgrade by the Safety Focused Performance Joint Venture (SFPJV), Infrastructure design, manufacture and delivery team are proud to have delivered a composite GRP 4m-diameter, 38m-high maintenance shaft for the project.
The journey began in December 2022 with the order award. After the initial design phase the manufacturing began in April 2024 and by September 2024 the shaft was delivered to the site, ready for installation in early 2025 by the client. This impressive structure was a collaborative effort between RPC’s Batam facility which manufactured the bottom module, including the invert liner, vortex breaker, and internal piping, and our Victorian Corio facility which produced the remaining three modules and completed the fitment of piping supplied from Batam.
RPC’s experience and success in delivering similar solutions to projects such as Melbourne Water’s Hobsons Bay Sewer Upgrade made us the natural choice for this critical project underscoring RPC’s commitment to quality and precision. Congratulations to all involved for the completion of this great project!
