RPC INTRODUCES 3D PRINTING CAPABILITY 29/11/2017

RPC Technologies has introduced advanced 3D printing technology based in the Broadmeadow, Newcastle facility.

The technology is capable of printing an object within an 500x500x500 envelope to a 0.1mm accuracy and will provide time and cost efficiencies in prototype manufacture.

Current projects are being printed in PLA, but other plastics are being explored in line with the capabilities of the equipment. RPC can print from most Solidworks 3D models.

Pierre Gouhier, Engineering Manager of RPC said, “There is much to learn about 3D printing capabilities and quality, but we have already produced deliverables which are of an excellent commercial standard.”

The finishes can be either raw plastic or plastic finished with body filler or primed/painted. Higher grade units can also be produced requiring manual and detailed finishes.
