30 Sep Tawariki GRP cascade shaft Installation
RPC Technologies has recently installed the first 4 segments of the Tawariki GRP cascade shaft as part of Watercare’s Central Interceptor project in Auckland, New Zealand. The DN7500 modules, each weighing up to 32 tons, were placed into the 25m shaft. The segments use flanged connections that facilitate rapid assembly on site, thereby reducing construction time. Once installed, each module is encased in concrete to create a corrosion-resistant shaft liner with no exposed concrete surfaces.
This approach ensures enhanced durability and longevity, contributing to the project’s overall efficiency and sustainability. The Central Interceptor is set to significantly improve wastewater management in Auckland, providing long-term benefits to the region.
