17 Mar Nose Cone Milestone
In December 2025 RPC reached a major milestone with the successful delivery of the final GRP Nose Cone to ballistic requirements according to standard BR566 Type 2, of 46 off for the current Vlocity programme (V/Line Trains – Victoria) officially marking the completion of this significant two-year program for our customer, Alstom Transport Australia.
The production process began in 2023 with large moulds using the infusion process with the Nose Cones completed in one piece on-site at RPC in Corio, Victoria, followed by full assembly and painting to exacting quality standards before final delivery. Each stage of the process reflected the team’s technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering a high-quality outcome for Victoria’s VLocity fleet – Made in Victoria for Victorians.
This brings the total fleet to 141 Regional 3-CAR Trainsets. Showcasing our unique strategic capability, OneRPC, this achievement represents the culmination of extensive planning, precision manufacturing, and strong cross-site collaboration.
With more than 50-years servicing the Transport needs of Australian communities, this milestone highlights not only the success of the project itself, but also the continued capability of RPC to deliver critical and complex programs from start to finish.
