Largest diameter pipe goes into production for Central Java – 20/08/2017

RPC Technologies has recently commenced production of large diameter GRP pipes for two coal-fired power stations in Batang, Central Java. The pipes, required for water cooling, are a massive 3.9m diameter x 12.75m in length. RPC designed and manufactured, the GRP cooling water pipes feature an integral bell & spigot and locking chord, with a unique collar concept, engineered specifically for this project’s large-scale and complex requirements.

The first pipe of 1000 that will be required, rolled off one of the four Filament Winders at RPC’s recently expanded Batam, Indonesia facility last week.  In total, 12km of pipe and fittings, to be buried for both the intake and discharge lines for offshore and onshore, will be required, making it our current largest contract in terms of value, innovation and manufacturing capability.
