RPC Technologies has signed an agreement for the exclusive licence to manufacture, market, deliver and maintain Mecprotec Oy products in the Australasia region. Mecprotec Oy is a Finish engineering company specialising in the design of defence, commercial and industrial related mechanical handling equipment applications, toolmaking, documentation and manufacturing, with a successful track record in supplying to the Finish Defence Force and Cargotec.

Following a successful entry into the tidal energy renewables sector in 2012 with composite structures related to the SU550 (2kW) SeaUrchin, RPC is continuing to pursue GRP applications for the tidal energy renewables market. RPC was the joint winner in the 2012 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards as well as the overall winner of the Engineering

RPC Technologies Group Managing Director, Tony Caristo, welcomed the Hon John Eren MP, the State Member for Lara, to RPC’s manufacturing facility in Corio, Victoria on Friday 22 September. The Minister was accompanied by Athena Adriotis, Director, Construction Technologies, and Lisa Pitre from the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources.

RPC Technologies has recently shipped the first new DA Acoustic Window Set as part of the Collins Class Submarine upgrade LOTE program. The GRP windows were originally manufactured by RPC when the six submarines were commissioned in 2003 and have not been replaced since. Some of the existing windows are 20-years-old.

Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) is constructing a new AU$55 million sewer on the outskirts of Brisbane’s CBD. Once the project has been completed, the utility has said the sewer will be the longest pipe jack using glass reinforced pipe (GRP) in Australia. RPC Technologies manufactured the GRP Perma-Manholes and RPC Pipe Systems has manufactured the jacking pipe. The 4.25 km sewer main is known as the Bulimba Creek Sewer Upgrade Stage 2.

RPC Technologies has recently commenced production of large diameter GRP pipes for two coal-fired power stations in Batang, Central Java. The pipes, required for water cooling, are a massive 3.9m diameter x 12.75m in length. RPC designed and manufactured, the GRP cooling water pipes feature an integral bell & spigot and locking chord, with a unique collar concept, engineered specifically for this project’s large-scale and complex requirements.

Working to meet the needs of our South East Asian customers delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects in that region, RPC is delighted to announce the completion of a significant capacity expansion in our manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia. Covered space and lifting capacity has been increased, and we have doubled our large diameter pipe manufacturing capability with four 4m (d) x 12m (l) Filament Winders now available for production. 

We are pleased to announce that RPC Pipe Systems have completed the final shipment (N°3) of our largest ever export pipe order. The “Central Plains Water” project consisted of bundles of Flowtite® nested pipe each weight in excess of 20 tonnes. The “Union Taylor” departed from Adelaide on July 10 and arrived at Port Lyttleton (Christchurch, New Zealand) on July 19. Unloading was successfully completed last night at 12:30 am on July 10 by Accord Logistics.
